The latest version of Android is slowly gaining market share. After doubling its market share now last month we see as Marshmallow earns almost two points, going from 4.6% to the 7,5% the data that Google has just published versions of Android for this month of may distribution.
If the pace does not stop within a month Marshmallow is already present in one of every ten devices, new devices this year are shipped with this version of the operating system, and more and more devices that are being updated. Marshmallow is still the fourth most widely used version.
The third most widely used version of Android is still now Jelly Bean with a 20.1 percent market share (before 21.3%). In second place we find KitKat with 32.5% (formerly 33.4%). And the first place remains for Lollipop with 35.6% (formerly 35.8%).
This month is the only version that gains market share 6.0 Android Marshmallow. Android 5.1 Lollipop has been stagnant at 19.4%, Ice Cream Sandwich in 2% and Froyo at 0.1%. Gingerbread passes from 2.6% to 2.2%.
