Bicycle: a Means of Transport – by CET

The increase in the number of bicycle trips in the city of São Paulo, confirmed by the results of the last research on the origin and destination of the Metro (1997 and 2007), and the public policies recently practiced by the largest metropolises in the world, with a view to changing the matrix Energy of the planet, define as one of the guidelines of the current management of the Municipality of São Paulo, stimulating the use of the bicycle as a means of transportation and investment in the implantation and expansion of cycling infrastructure in our city.

On the other hand, the Operational Cycle of Leisure totals 120.8km, running on Sundays and national holidays from 7am to 4pm in all regions of the city. Leisure Operational Cycles are traffic lanes located near the central or left side of the road totally segregated from the general traffic by channeling elements such as cones, supercones or trestles, with vertical and horizontal signaling that regulates this use.
