ECCO Trekking Shoes

During the OAS in Sweden, all participants had the opportunity to test the new trekking boots by ECCO . The brand ECCO was previously not known to me, what could be probably due to that she was so far little in the outdoor area active. In the field of casual shoes, ECCO is already known.

The model we tested, must have been the new Xpedition trekking shoe which will only appear in the autumn/winter 2009. On the Web page I could not discover anyway, this shoe. To do this, I am just the excerpt from the press release:

With the ECCO® Xpedition, exploring unexplored areas will soon become a matter of course, because he supports you with every movement. The existing from rich Yakleder boot of the Xpedition ensures a comfortable fit and is at least three times as strong as conventional leather. The Vibram® outsole and directly injected light PU midsole provide optimum grip, traction and stability. The Receptor® technology along the entire length, as well as the ergonomically shaped comfort insole ensure that your foot receives support from the toes to heel and he needed for comfort also at rauestem area. And to have always fresh and dry feet at full-day hikes, the Xpedition has a waterproof Gore-Tex lining-TEX®.

We come to practice. Actually you don’t is tour, with a brand new shoe trekking backpack which also informed Mads Hahn EMAN (international sales ECCO PErformance) us at the briefing. But well, yes no choice was 🙂 After three days hiking and about 35 kilometers, I can say however that the shoe is really amazingly comfortable wearing and I got no bubble on the feet. However, led a unfavorable fold at the top of the toe of the right boot that formed an abrasion wound on my big toe.

In general the trekking shoe from ECCO is somewhat softer, made of leather as well as from the sole. Nevertheless, sat the shoe with me very well and gave me a sense of safe stop. The Xpedition was successful by my feet also rain and water.

Conclusion: All I was very pleased with the ECCO shoes and I am really surprised that a manufacturer who only, since quite a short time in the outdoor area is active, produced such a good shoe. I’m taking the Xpedition, we were allowed to keep by the way, according to the OAS, anyway, continue to use. I hope that the fold at the top of the toe will be back yet.
